Recommendation for use
Spelt flakes are perfect for enriching breakfast porridge, baked goods, casseroles, or smoothies, providing both fiber and stable energy. Boil in water or plant-based milk for 5–10 minutes or use soaked overnight.
Nutritionally, spelt flakes contain high levels of protein – 13.2 g / 100 g, more than regular wheat flours or flakes, making them a good plant-based protein source. They also contain plenty of slow-absorbing carbohydrates and are beneficial for digestion.
The difference compared to regular wheat flakes is that spelt is less processed, more nutrient-rich, and often better tolerated. Compared to oat flakes, spelt has slightly less fat but more protein.
